Purchasing Manager API · pos

Record what the carrier said about an inbound shipment

POST /pos/{poId}/shipments/{shipmentId}/tracking

Record what the carrier said about an inbound shipment — by a person, or by a shipping app that polls or hears the carrier for the organization: its tracking events (each a moment, a status, and optionally a description and location) and its eta.

The shipment stands where its latest event says, unless a receipt already took it in; a delivered event sets its delivery day when no receipt did. 404 UnknownInboundShipment for a shipment the order does not have. Appends purchasing.inbound-tracking-recorded. Idempotent by content: events already held (the same moment and status) and an unchanged ETA append nothing.

Access

Requires purchasing:write or receiving:write.

Any one of these scopes is enough.

How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.

Retries

Idempotent by content: events already held (the same moment and status) and an unchanged ETA append nothing.

Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.

Facts appended

  • purchasing.inbound-tracking-recorded

What a fact is: Facts and the journal.

AI agent tool

Agents call this as purchasing_record_inbound_tracking (Purchasing: Record inbound tracking), in the receiving toolset.

Connecting an agent: AI agents.
