Billing
Manifold has one plan: USD 300 a month, including 100 sales orders, then a charge for each sales order beyond that. A new organization has 7 days to start a 60-day free trial; starting it takes a card.
The plan
The base fee is USD 300 a month and includes the first 100 sales orders. Orders past 100 are charged in bands: each band's orders at that band's rate.
| Sales orders a month | Rate per sales order (USD) |
|---|---|
| 1–100 | Included |
| 101–500 | $0.20 |
| 501–2,000 | $0.18 |
| 2,001–10,000 | $0.055 |
| 10,001–50,000 | $0.03 |
| 50,001+ | $0.015 |
For example, 600 sales orders in a month cost USD 300 + 400 × USD 0.20 + 100 × USD 0.18 = USD 398. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. The base fee is charged monthly in advance; sales orders are charged in arrears, on the next month's invoice. The full terms are in section 6 of the terms of service.
What counts as a sales order
- Every sales order created in your organization counts, however it arrived: entered in the admin, created through the API or by an AI agent, or brought in from a connected store.
- An order is counted once it is a day old. One cancelled within 24 hours of being created is never counted, so orders made while learning the system cost nothing.
- An order counts in the billing month in which its first day ends. Editing it does not count it again. Cancelling it after its first day does not uncount it.
- A quote is not an order. It counts only once it is placed.
The free trial
A new organization has 7 days to start its free trial. A banner across the top of the admin counts the days down. The 60 days begin when you start the trial, so the 7 days do not come out of them. After 7 days without a trial, changes are refused until you start one; see Without an active subscription. This is not read-only mode, which only holds back what Manifold sends to other systems.
- Go to Settings › Billing, or the billing step of the setup walk.
- Press Start 60-day free trial. You go to Stripe's checkout to add a card.
- Back in Manifold, the page says your card is saved and updates on its own when Stripe confirms the trial.
The trial is free, base fee and sales orders included. Orders during the trial are counted, so you can see your volume, but not charged. A week before the trial ends, a banner says when billing starts. Unless you cancel first, the subscription continues and the card is charged from the end of the trial.
The billing page
Settings › Billing shows the plan, this period's orders and your invoices. Only the organization's owners and admins see it and change it. Staff working for a partner (an accountant or agency your organization works with) do not: the organization pays for itself.
- Manifold
- The plan's status, the base fee, when the free trial ends, and when the subscription renews or ends.
- This period
- Sales orders counted, orders less than a day old (not yet counted), and the estimate so far, before tax, with the orders in each band.
- Rate per sales order
- The bands above.
- Invoices
- Each invoice Stripe raised, with its date, status and total. Open one to see Stripe's copy and download it.
To change the card, see past payments or cancel, press Manage card and subscription. It opens Stripe's billing portal. A cancelled subscription ends at the close of the current billing month, and that month's orders are charged on a final invoice. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
Invoices and payment details
- Receipts and payment reminders go to the billing email: the person who started the trial, unless it has been changed.
- The billing email, address and tax ID on your invoices are kept by Stripe. Change them in Stripe's billing portal, under Manage card and subscription.
- The card is charged in US dollars. Your bank may convert it.
- Where tax is owed, it is added for the billing address you gave at checkout, such as GST in Australia. A tax ID you gave is shown on the invoice.

- Cancelled
- The subscription has ended. Start a new one from the same page.
- Incomplete
- Stripe has not finished setting up the subscription, or it has expired or been paused. Until it is active, the organization has no active subscription. Press Manage card and subscription to finish it, or start again from this page if it expired.

Without an active subscription
An organization whose trial never started, whose subscription ended, or whose invoice stayed unpaid after the retries cannot make changes. You can still sign in, see everything and export your data. Anything you try to save is refused with a message that a subscription is required. A banner across the top says the organization has no active subscription and links to Start subscription.
This is not the same as read-only mode, which holds back what Manifold sends to other systems until you go live. Billing does not depend on going live: the trial and the subscription run from when you start them.
Paying through Shopify
If your organization was created by installing Manifold from the Shopify App Store, Shopify bills you instead, on your store's Shopify bill. The fees are the same.
- Settings › Billing shows Billed through Shopify and the store's name.
- Press Approve the plan in Shopify to start it, or Manage the plan in Shopify to change or cancel it. Shopify's own plan page opens.
- When you come back, Manifold reads the plan from Shopify again and the page updates.
- Invoices are in your Shopify account, not on this page.
An organization that connected a Shopify store itself, after signing up on the website, keeps paying through Stripe.
If you pay through Stripe but open Manifold inside the Shopify admin, the billing page offers Manage billing in Manifold instead: a Stripe subscription is managed in the Manifold admin, not inside Shopify.
