Purchasing Manager API · pos
Cancel a purchase order before any goods arrive
DELETE /pos/{poId}
The order stays on the books as cancelled (its reference remains taken); an authorised order's incoming expectations are withdrawn from inventory first (inventory.incoming-cancelled per line, keyed <poId>:<sku>:cancel; 502 InventoryUnavailable while inventory is away, the cancel finishing later). 409 PoHasReceipts once anything was received — short-close it instead. Appends purchasing.po-cancelled. Idempotent: a retry against an already-cancelled order is acknowledged and appends nothing.
Access
Requires purchasing:write.
How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.
Retries
Idempotent: a retry against an already-cancelled order is acknowledged and appends nothing.
A retry with the same key answers 200, with what the first call recorded.
Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.
Facts appended
purchasing.po-cancelled
What a fact is: Facts and the journal.
AI agent tool
Agents call this as purchasing_cancel_po (Purchasing: Cancel PO), in the purchasing toolset. It is marked destructive, so the agent asks before running it.
