Inventory Manager API · stocktakes
Save counts and costs on an open stocktake
PUT /stocktakes/{stocktakeId}/counts
Save counts (counts: SKU, locationId — the default location when omitted — and the units counted) and costs (costs: SKU and unitCostCents, in the home currency) on an open stocktake, each replacing what it held for that pair or SKU; up to 5,000 of each per call.
Nothing moves until it completes, so a organization whose stock is mirrored from a source enters them too. Appends inventory.stocktake-counted with only what changed. 409 StocktakeNotOpen once it is completed or cancelled; 409 StocktakeLineRefused for a location outside its scope or a service. Idempotent by content: saving the same figures again appends nothing.
Access
Requires stock:write or financials:write.
Any one of these scopes is enough.
How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.
Retries
Idempotent by content: saving the same figures again appends nothing.
Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.
Facts appended
inventory.stocktake-counted
What a fact is: Facts and the journal.
AI agent tool
Agents call this as inventory_record_stocktake_counts (Inventory: Record stocktake counts), in the stocktakes toolset.
Connecting an agent: AI agents.
