Inventory Manager API · products

Re-declare the axes a product varies on and

PUT /products/{productId}/options

Re-declare the axes a product varies on (max 3) and, in the same command, where each variant sits in the new option space.

variants keys selections by SKU; a variant left out keeps its current selection. Every variant must end with one value per declared axis, drawn from that axis's values, and no two variants may share a selection — 409 VariantOptionsInvalid refuses the whole command otherwise, and a SKU the product does not carry is 404 VariantNotFound. Appends inventory.product-options-set carrying every variant's final selection. Idempotent by content: a retry that changes nothing is acknowledged and appends nothing.

Access

Requires products:write.

How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.

Retries

Idempotent by content: a retry that changes nothing is acknowledged and appends nothing.

Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.

Facts appended

  • inventory.product-options-set

What a fact is: Facts and the journal.

AI agent tool

Agents call this as catalog_set_product_options (Catalog: Set product options), in the catalog toolset.

Connecting an agent: AI agents.

Example

Add a third colour to the axis before its variant is added.
