Inventory Manager API · locations
Bind a location to one of a sales channel's locations
PUT /locations/{locationId}/bindings/{channelId}
Bind a location to one of a sales channel's locations: channelId is the channel (GET /channels), externalId the channel's own id for its location and externalName its name there.
A site bound by a connected channel cannot be archived while the binding stands. Called by the app that provides the channel, as it pairs the channel's locations with the organization's sites. Appends inventory.location-bound. 404 ChannelNotFound, 409 ChannelNotConnected for a disconnected channel, 409 LocationArchived for an archived site. Idempotent by content: binding the same channel to the same channel location again is acknowledged and appends nothing; a different one replaces it.
Access
Requires locations:write.
How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.
Retries
Idempotent by content: binding the same channel to the same channel location again is acknowledged and appends nothing; a different one replaces it.
Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.
Facts appended
inventory.location-bound
What a fact is: Facts and the journal.
AI agent tool
No agent tool. Called by the app providing a sales channel as it pairs the channel's locations (its location mirror); an agent binds a store location with the channel app's own connection tool instead.
Connecting an agent: AI agents.
Example
The web store's app pairs its second location with the shopfront.

}The panel writes this call in other languages. It does not send it: Manifold's APIs do not take calls from a web
page on another site, so run the call from your own code or terminal. The whole API as OpenAPI: inventory-manager.openapi.json. Base URL https://inventory.getmanifold.io.
Errors
Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing.
