GET /items/{sku}/stock

A SKU's stock levels, how many on hand: every quantity bucket as of now, in one read — onHand; reserved (held for sales orders); available (onHand − reserved, what a new order can be promised); damaged; awaitingIdentification (tracked units that have arrived but have not been named, deliberately outside available); incoming (open purchase-order expectations, registered when a PO is authorised); backordered (accepted sales demand this SKU cannot cover, reported by fulfillment at allocation); and projected — available + incoming − backordered, which goes negative when the orders already taken exceed everything on hand and on its way.

That negative number is the reorder signal, and the reason all of these live in one shape rather than across three services. Expiry-aware shelf views live with the registry fold (see /shelf/:sku).

Access

Requires stock:read or products:read or receiving:read or purchasing:read or allocations:read.

Any one of these scopes is enough.

Errors

Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing.
