Inventory Manager API · catalogs

Open a catalog: a name and its one ISO 4217 currency

POST /catalogs

Open a catalog: a name (unique among the organization's active catalogs, because names are how views are assigned) and its one ISO 4217 currency.

It starts empty — products opt in, nothing leaks in. taxInclusive says whether its prices include tax — inclusive, exclusive, or organization-default (the default: the tax settings' defaultConvention). Appends inventory.catalog-created. Idempotent on the name: a retried open meets 409 CatalogNameConflict, never a second catalog.

Access

Requires catalogs:write.

How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.

Retries

Idempotent on the name: a retried open meets 409 CatalogNameConflict, never a second catalog.

A retry with the same key answers 201, with what the first call recorded.

Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.

Facts appended

  • inventory.catalog-created

What a fact is: Facts and the journal.

AI agent tool

Agents call this as catalog_create_catalog (Catalog: Create catalog), in the catalog toolset.

The panel writes this call in other languages. It does not send it: Manifold's APIs do not take calls from a web page on another site, so run the call from your own code or terminal. The whole API as OpenAPI: inventory-manager.openapi.json. Base URL https://inventory.getmanifold.io.

Errors

Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing. Some can answer a retry of a call that already worked: they are marked.
