POST /orders/{orderId}/collections

Ask the sales channel an order came from to take the order's money through the channel's own processor: capture-authorised takes what the buyer's card authorised at the channel's checkout, charge-saved-method charges a card the buyer saved with the channel.

Only a channel that declares the kind (Channel.collects, available now) can be asked — any other order, an admin or API order, a channel that cannot, one whose capability is still pending or one let go, is 409 PaymentCollectionUnavailable. What is asked for is amountCents, what an invoice bills (invoiceId), what a parcel holds (shipmentId) or else everything still owed — never more (409 OverPayment; 409 NothingToCollect when nothing is owed), and one collection waits for its channel at a time (409 PaymentCollectionOpen). The channel's app hears payment.collection-requested and answers; the money itself arrives as the channel's own record of it, naming the collection, so it is counted once. Appends fulfillment.payment-collection-requested. collectionId (a caller-minted pcol_…) is required and is the idempotency key, across the organization: a retry with the same id on the same order is acknowledged with the collection already asked for, and the channel is asked once; the same id on another order is 409 PaymentCollectionUnavailable. Whether the channel can collect is read from the channel registry under Manifold's own credential, so asking needs payments:write alone.

Retries

collectionId (a caller-minted pcol_…) is required and is the idempotency key, across the organization: a retry with the same id on the same order is acknowledged with the collection already asked for, and the channel is asked once; the same id on another order is 409 PaymentCollectionUnavailable.

Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing.

`401`

Refusal	What it means	What to do
`Unauthorized` reason	The token is missing, expired or not one Manifold issued.	Get a fresh token and send the call again.
