POST /orders/{orderId}/collections/{collectionId}/answer

The app providing the order's channel answers a collection it was asked for: succeeded (the payment system's transactionId and what it took), refused with a code and the reason — declined, authorisation-expired, nothing-to-collect, not-permitted, held, cancelled, payment-in-progress or error — which the order shows its staff, or pending (the payment system has the charge and has not finished it: the collection stays open, and no other is asked for, until a final answer follows).

Only that app answers (403 PaymentCollectionNotYours). The answer moves no money: what the channel took arrives as its payment record. Appends fulfillment.payment-collection-answered. Idempotent by state: a collection is answered finally once, so the same answer again — or a retry of any pending answer it already gave — is acknowledged, and a different one is 409 PaymentCollectionAnswered.

Errors

Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing. Some can answer a retry of a call that already worked: they are marked.

`401`

Refusal	What it means	What to do
`Unauthorized` reason	The token is missing, expired or not one Manifold issued.	Get a fresh token and send the call again.
`TokenAlreadyUsed` tokenId	A single-use app token was already spent.	Mint a new token for this call.

`402`

Refusal	What it means	What to do
`SubscriptionRequired` status	The organization's subscription has lapsed, so writes are refused.	An owner settles billing. Reads still work meanwhile.

`403`

Refusal	What it means	What to do
`PaymentCollectionNotYours` collectionId, reason	The request was refused. `reason` says why.	The caller may not do this. Use a token whose roles allow it.
`TenantRequired` userId	The token names no organization.	Choose the organization, then get a new token.
`ScopeRequired` required	The token's roles do not grant the scope this call needs.	Ask an owner or admin for a role that grants it.

`404`

`FulfillmentOrderNotFound` orderId	No such record in this organization.	Check the id in the path or the body.
`PaymentCollectionNotFound` collectionId	No such record in this organization.	Check the id in the path or the body.

`409`

`PaymentCollectionAnswered` collectionId, status Can answer a retry	The request was refused, and nothing changed.	If this answers a retry, your first call probably landed. Read the record before doing anything else.
`MirroredFromSource` source	This area is fed by your source system until the organization goes live.	Make the change in the source system, or go live first.
