Auth API · stations

Set the signed-in person's own station PIN for the organization

PUT /api/auth/station-pins/{organizationId}

Set the signed-in person's own station PIN for the organization: 4 to 8 digits (6 to 8 for an owner or admin), hashed at rest, never shown again.

It unlocks a station only together with the device's own credential, and a new one lifts the person's lockout. 400 InvalidStationPin for anything else, 403 NotAMember for anyone who is not an active member — and for an impersonating platform admin, since a PIN is the person's own secret. Appends auth.station-pin-set. Idempotent by content: the PIN the person already has is acknowledged and appends nothing.

Access

Requires a signed-in session: The signed-in person's own station PIN in an organization they are an active member of; no path names anyone else

How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.

Retries

Idempotent by content: the PIN the person already has is acknowledged and appends nothing.

Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.

Facts appended

  • auth.station-pin-set

What a fact is: Facts and the journal.

AI agent tool

No agent tool. A station PIN is a person's own secret, typed by them in their profile; a secret is never typed into a chat or handed to an agent.

Connecting an agent: AI agents.

The panel writes this call in other languages. It does not send it: Manifold's APIs do not take calls from a web page on another site, so run the call from your own code or terminal. The whole API as OpenAPI: auth-service.openapi.json. Base URL https://auth.getmanifold.io.
