Auth API · stations
Enrol a device as a station
POST /api/auth/stations/{organizationId}
Enrol a device as a station: signed in to one station view (pick-pack, receiving, stocktake or the register) at one locationId, under the stationId the enroller minted.
The answer carries the device's credential — shown once, hashed at rest — which the device keeps and presents to unlock. Nobody enrols a station for a view their own roles do not open: 403 ViewNotOpened, owners and admins excepted. 400 InvalidStation for a view that is not a station's or a malformed name, 403 NotAMember for anyone outside the organization. Appends auth.station-enrolled. Idempotent on stationId: a retry by the same person with the same body within a day answers the original station and credential and appends nothing; any other use of the id is 409 StationIdTaken.
Access
Requires a signed-in session: An owner or admin of the organization, or a member whose roles open the station's view, checked against its membership by the route (the BetterAuth session)
How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.
Retries
Idempotent on stationId: a retry by the same person with the same body within a day answers the original station and credential and appends nothing; any other use of the id is 409 StationIdTaken.
A retry with the same key answers 200, with what the first call recorded.
Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.
Facts appended
auth.station-enrolled
What a fact is: Facts and the journal.
AI agent tool
No agent tool. Enrolling a device hands it a credential that keeps it signed in to the organization: a person's decision at the device in Settings › Stations, and a credential is never handed to an agent.
Connecting an agent: AI agents.
Example
From Set up a station and unlock it with a PIN, step 2: Enrol the packing bench.

}The panel writes this call in other languages. It does not send it: Manifold's APIs do not take calls from a web
page on another site, so run the call from your own code or terminal. The whole API as OpenAPI: auth-service.openapi.json. Base URL https://auth.getmanifold.io.
Errors
Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing.

| Refusal | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
InvalidStation reason | The request was refused. reason says why. | Fix the request. Sending it again unchanged gets the same answer. |

TenantRequired userId | The token names no organization. | Choose the organization, then get a new token. |
ScopeRequired required | The token's roles do not grant the scope this call needs. | Ask an owner or admin for a role that grants it. |
409

|---|---|---|
StationIdTaken stationId, reason | The request was refused. reason says why. | Nothing changed. Read the record, then decide. |
