Auth API · members

Restore a deactivated member's access exactly as it was

POST /api/auth/members/{organizationId}/{userId}/reactivate

Restore a deactivated member's access exactly as it was: their membership role and the roles assigned them, kept while they were away, are what their next token carries.

403 AdminRequired for anyone but an owner or admin, MembershipDeactivated for a caller whose own access has ended, OwnerRequired for an admin reactivating an owner; 404 NotAMember. Appends auth.member-reactivated. Idempotent by state: reactivating a member who is active is acknowledged and appends nothing.

Access

Requires a signed-in session: An active owner or admin of the organization, checked against its membership by the route (the person's BetterAuth session)

How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.

Retries

Idempotent by state: reactivating a member who is active is acknowledged and appends nothing.

Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.

Facts appended

  • auth.member-reactivated

What a fact is: Facts and the journal.

AI agent tool

No agent tool. Restoring a member's access is an owner's or admin's decision in Settings › Users, never an agent's; it answers a person's BetterAuth session only.

Connecting an agent: AI agents.
