Accounting Ledger API · ledgers
Plan what is unsent, the ledger's own app alone
POST /ledgers/{ledgerId}/journals/plan
Plan what is unsent, the ledger's own app alone (403 NotALedgerApp, NotThisLedgersApp): every posting effective in the ledger's range that no journal of it claims is grouped by its settings, and each group whose accounts are all placed — mapped, or kept by the app — becomes a journal claiming its postings (accounting.ledger-journal-requested, keyed journal:<ljn>).
A day with a posting on an unplaced account waits whole, said in waiting. Answers every open journal, oldest first, up to limit — so a delivery a crash cut short is handed out again. The range begins at the opening stocktake; when syncFrom is after its day, every posting before syncFrom is planned first as one carried-forward journal (keyed journal:<ljn>; the postings it read claimed beside it as accounting.ledger-postings-claimed, up to 1,000 a fact, in the same transaction) and day-by-day journals follow only once it is planned. Idempotent by state: a posting is claimed by one journal, so a second call plans nothing twice. A ledger without settings, or a organization without an opening stocktake, plans nothing and says so. Each journal carries currency, the home currency its amounts are minor units of; books whose base currency is no longer the home currency plan nothing and say so.
Access
Requires financials:write.
How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.
Retries
Idempotent by state: a posting is claimed by one journal, so a second call plans nothing twice.
Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.
Facts appended
accounting.ledger-journal-requestedaccounting.ledger-postings-claimed
What a fact is: Facts and the journal.
AI agent tool
No agent tool. Only the ledger's own app, under its own token, connects its books, maps them, plans and answers their journals (NotALedgerApp for anyone else); an agent sends the merchant to the app's page under Apps instead.
Connecting an agent: AI agents.

}The panel writes this call in other languages. It does not send it: Manifold's APIs do not take calls from a web
page on another site, so run the call from your own code or terminal. The whole API as OpenAPI: accounting-manager.openapi.json. Base URL https://accounting.getmanifold.io.
Errors
Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing.
