Accounting Ledger API · ledgers
Say how the other ledger answered a journal
POST /ledgers/{ledgerId}/journals/{journalId}/answer
Say how the other ledger answered a journal, the ledger's own app alone (403 NotALedgerApp, NotThisLedgersApp): delivered, with its id there (accounting.ledger-journal-delivered), or refused, with the reason (accounting.ledger-journal-refused, which releases the journal's postings so the next plan claims them under the next attempt's id).
Idempotent by state: a journal is answered once (keyed answer:<ljn>), and a second answer returns the journal as the first left it.
Access
Requires financials:write.
How scopes come from roles: Scopes and roles. Getting a token: Authentication and app tokens.
Retries
Idempotent by state: a journal is answered once (keyed answer:<ljn>), and a second answer returns the journal as the first left it.
Why every write carries a key: Idempotency and retries.
Facts appended
accounting.ledger-journal-deliveredaccounting.ledger-journal-refused
What a fact is: Facts and the journal.
AI agent tool
No agent tool. Only the ledger's own app, under its own token, connects its books, maps them, plans and answers their journals (NotALedgerApp for anyone else); an agent sends the merchant to the app's page under Apps instead.
Connecting an agent: AI agents.

}The panel writes this call in other languages. It does not send it: Manifold's APIs do not take calls from a web
page on another site, so run the call from your own code or terminal. The whole API as OpenAPI: accounting-manager.openapi.json. Base URL https://accounting.getmanifold.io.
Errors
Every refusal is a status and a JSON body whose _tag names it. A refused call changes nothing.
